MTBKY Tralee to Fenit Greenway

Mountain Biking Kerry (MTBKY) have commissioned a short film of the Tralee to Fenit Greenway to showcase construction progress. A trailer for the short film is now live on social media.

Greenway development began at the western end of the project in Fenit Village. Significant progress appears to have been made. Clearance of the disused rail line is complete from Fenit Village to the eastern side of The Spa. This represents just over 6km of the total project.

Speaking on behalf of Mountain Biking Kerry, Anluan Dunne said “This short film gives a glimpse as to what the final product will look like and the commendable progress made by Kerry County Council to date. We look forward to the greenway being completed in 2021 and other projects such as the Tralee Urban Bike Park and North Kerry Way starting”

The works are being undertaken by Kerry County Council directly with the labour-force and machinery being provided by the Tralee Municipal District.

The sod was turned on the greenway in November of 2019 after years of delay. The project is on track for mid 2021 completion.

The final edit of the film is in post-production at present and will be released in the coming days on the Mountain Biking Kerry Website: www.mtbky.ie. Filming and editing was undertaken by Fiachra Dunne.

Mountain Biking Kerry continues to work with Kerry County Council to develop an Urban Bike Park in Tralee.
