Overview

In Kerry, we are fortunate to have some of the most beautiful, unspoilt beaches, mountains and countryside on the island. As a location, Tralee is perfectly positioned to be the gateway to these natural resources and develop the town as an activities hub for the county.

Proposal

Our proposal is to construct a pump-track, mountain bike (MTB) skills trail and road safety course in Tralee. The proposed development has already been adopted by Kerry County Council as a development objective and received unanimous backing by Tralee Municipal District Councillors.
This cycling facility will provide a highly attractive selection of bicycle trails and tracks in a dedicated space. The proposal will also allow for potential future development in the form of a community café and/or bicycle workshop space.

Site

Kerry County Council had confirmed that a site has been identified in mid 2020 following motion put forward during the Tralee Municipal District meeting held on the 6th of July, 2020. Kerry County Council stated: “We are proceeding with the acquisition of a site for the provision of this amenity. Once finalised a funding stream will be sought to to enable it to be delivered”

However, this site has fallen through and it appears progress on the park is now stalled.

In December 2020, we re-engaged once more with local politicians to see how progress can be made.

We need your help

We now need help from you! Our campaign to have this park built needs a large collective voice to ensure that we are heard by politicians and the Council. Head over to our campaign page to find out more on how you can help.

Wouldn’t this be amazing in Tralee, Co. Kerry?
